In January of 2018, the Baker family bought a farm on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Southwestern Virginia.
We are merely an hour and a half from Charlotte and our home, Greensboro. In the first year, we renovated the farmhouse and built a tiny cabin. We have since built a true white pine log cabin with a loft and pellet stove. We brought in donkeys, sheep, chickens, turkey, guineas and have plenty of eggs to share.
Our goal is to be environmentally conscious, live off our beautiful 42 acres, and host all of you. Our tiny cabins are solar-powered and we have other solar batteries around the house. Eventually, our goal is to be virtually 100% solar and off-the-grid.
Addison Baker will be your primary contact when visiting Lucky Dice Farm. Addison is co-owner and operations manager. He raises the donkeys, sheep, chickens, and his old farm dog. Addison's background was food service and retail management. On top of his farm life, he is also area support for UPS Stores throughout the southeast. Addison enjoys gardening, fishing, hunting, and meeting many new guests!
On top of the house and tiny cabin, we offer camping and small-group retreats. We will be expanding our housing structures on the property over time and hope to one day be able to host larger events. For the time-being, we are enjoying this adventure of farming crops and having animals along with making friends with many great guests along the way.
If you’re looking for a taste of the farm life in the Blue Ridge, this could be the place for you.
Thank you for your support, we hope to see you soon.
